Custom software for processes
that have outgrown Excel.

I build web applications, internal tools and APIs for companies that want to simplify their processes and connect their systems.

Happy clients

What I have built.

Client project

IM Studios, branding studio

Starting point
The studio had no website of its own. There was no address it could point prospective clients to.
My part
Design and build of a bilingual one-pager with a work gallery, a case story, and studio and team sections. React and Vite, statically built, no CMS.
Result
An address of the studio's own, with work, founder and team on one page.

Shown here is a copy running on this domain, with intro, language switch and everything that can be clicked. It sends nothing and loads nothing from third-party servers.

Dispatch interface of an invented freight forwarder: order list with status, driver and dates

Own demo, not a client project

Order management for a freight forwarder

Why
An internal tool is hard to describe and easy to show. So I built one: orders, status changes, filters, search.
What is real
The interface really works. Customer, data and company name are invented; there is no client system behind it.
Why this way
The state lives in the browser rather than on a server, so anyone can click around safely. Behind the same interface there would otherwise be a Spring Boot backend with PostgreSQL.
Open the demo and try it (in German)

Services

What I work on.

  1. Internal tools and automation

Bring orders, approvals, reports and other processes out of Excel and e-mail into one shared application, with roles, history and a single state everyone can refer to.

  2. Backends and integrations

APIs, data models and system connections. Tested, documented and built so that someone else can carry on with them later.

  3. Web applications and first product versions

Technical concept and build of a first robust product, including an assessment of what should be built now and what can wait.

  4. Websites and online shops

Company websites like this one and online shops built on Shopware, including the connections to payment, shipping and inventory. Built so the team can maintain content and products themselves afterwards.

Process

From the first conversation to handover.

  1. 30 minutes to get acquainted

The problem, the existing systems and the desired end state. Free and without obligation.

  2. Approach and quote, in writing

Scope, milestones, price range and technical recommendation are on the table before the start, not after.

  3. Build in visible stages

Regular demos instead of one surprise at the end of the project. From day one the code lives in the client's repository.

  4. Handover into production

Deployment, documentation and source code. On request, training for the team and further development afterwards.

About me

I am Tim Wachter, and I build software after years of seeing where it fails.

Four years of IT support in mid-sized companies and a corporate group before I started developing myself. In that time I saw enough Excel workarounds and quick-fix scripts up close to know where a tool of your own really changes something, and where it does not.

That is where my way of working comes from: I say so when a feature takes three times as long as estimated in the meeting. And I also say so when an existing tool is actually enough.

Contact

Let's talk about a project.

Whether it is a concrete idea, a rough plan or a process that has been stuck for weeks: a short message is enough. I usually reply within a day.
